Interactive Displays
An interactive display is a large touchscreen that replaces a whiteboard and a projector at once, used in boardrooms, training rooms and classrooms.
It earns its cost where people write on it as well as present to it - marking up a drawing, working through a problem with a class, annotating a plan with a client on the call. Where a room only shows slides, a screen and a video bar do the same job for considerably less, and we would rather sell that.
Size by viewing distance rather than by room size. A useful rule is that the furthest seat should be no more than about six times the screen height away; screens chosen by what fits the wall usually leave the back row reading nothing.
Whether it runs its own software or acts as a screen for a laptop is the other decision, and it determines who supports it. A display with an operating system inside needs updating and administering like any other computer, and in a school that means somebody owning it.
Mounting, floor stand, power and network are quoted with the unit. Wall construction decides the bracket, and these are heavy - a hollow block wall may need reinforcement.
