Video Conferencing Bars

A video bar puts the camera, microphones and speakers in one unit under the screen, and it exists because the alternative - separate camera, separate microphones, separate speakers, and a laptop in the middle - is the arrangement that makes rooms unusable.

Size to the room and nothing else. A unit for a huddle room has a wide lens to cover people sitting close and near-field microphones; a unit for a boardroom needs longer microphone pickup and a camera that can frame a speaker at the far end of the table. Fitting the smaller unit to the bigger room is the most common mistake, and it presents as "the far end says they cannot hear us".

Most bars now frame speakers automatically. It works well in a rectangular room with the screen on a short wall and less well in a long room with a window down one side, because the camera is solving a geometry problem it was not given.

Mounting matters more than it sounds: above or below the screen changes eye line, and eye line is most of what makes a call feel like a conversation.

Give us the room dimensions, the seat count and the platform you standardise on. Mounting, cabling and commissioning are quoted with the unit.
