Smart Locks

Locks opened by a code, a card, a phone or a fingerprint rather than a key. For a small office, a serviced apartment or a set of meeting rooms, this is access control without the panel, the cabling and the administration that comes with a full system.

The dividing line is worth being plain about. If you need an audit trail across many doors and one place to revoke a credential, that is access control and this is not it. If you have a handful of doors and the real problem is keys being copied, lost or not returned, a smart lock solves it at a fraction of the cost.

Power is the first question. These run on batteries, and a lock with flat batteries is a door that does not open - so a model with a mechanical key override or external power contacts is not an optional extra, it is the difference between an inconvenience and a locksmith.

The second is the door itself. Lock case type, backset and door thickness decide what will physically fit, and a lock ordered against a photograph is a lock that arrives wrong. Measure, or ask us to.
