Smart Watches
Smart watches reach an organisation as long-service and recognition awards, as end-of-year staff gifts, and occasionally as issued equipment for people who cannot check a phone while working.
For a staff scheme, the specification that matters is not the feature list. It is battery life, because a watch charged nightly is a watch in a drawer by March, and durability, because it will be worn by people with no interest in looking after it. A simpler watch that runs a week beats a sophisticated one that runs a day.
Ecosystem is the constraint people miss. Some watches only pair fully with one phone platform, and a scheme covering a hundred staff will cover both. Specify something platform-neutral unless the recipients are known.
Cellular models work without a phone nearby and need their own line and subscription, which is an ongoing cost somebody has to own. For almost every office scheme, a model that tethers to a phone is the right answer.
Health tracking raises a question worth settling before rollout rather than after: if the organisation can see the data, staff will reasonably ask why. The cleanest position is that the device belongs to the person and the data does not come back.
Bulk orders can be engraved. Ask at quote stage, as it affects lead time.
