Switches & Adapters

Network switches connect the wired devices in your office and decide how cleanly traffic flows between them, and this category covers switches alongside the network adapters that add or upgrade connectivity on individual machines. The first decision is managed versus unmanaged: an unmanaged switch simply connects devices and suits a small office, while a managed switch gives you VLANs, traffic prioritisation and monitoring that larger or more structured networks need. Count your ports carefully and leave room to grow, and consider gigabit as the baseline, with Power over Ethernet switches worth specifying if you are powering IP cameras, access points or VoIP phones down the same cable, which tidies installations considerably. Adapters, meanwhile, add Ethernet to a laptop that lacks a port, upgrade an older desktop to gigabit, or provide Wi-Fi where it is missing. As with all network core kit in Nigeria, keep switches on a UPS so the wired backbone does not drop with the mains. OfficeLand supplies switches and adapters, including Power over Ethernet models that pair well with Hikvision cameras, to offices and projects across Lagos and nationwide.
